INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY AGAINST FOREIGN OCCUPATION OF IRAQ a project of the Committee to End the Occupation of Iraq
http://www.EndOccIraq.org
At a meeting of the Committee to End the Occupation of Iraq (CEO-I http://www.EndOccIraq.org ) today, one of the projects we decided to take on is to try to get a handle on who all the international players are that are joining the US occupation, what role each of those countries are playing and what are the political dynamics of how the US gained such cooperation and how the government’s of those countries sold such projects to the people of those nations (if they did) or how those governments imposed such policies and if there is anything unique about the role of each country. Most importantly, we are hoping to identify any and all forces in each of those countries that are fighting or otherwise opposing the support of the ruling forces of each such nation, what the statements are of those groups, what their strength is and what are the ways to contact those groups or any URLs for those groups.
While we are not aware of any such effort under way, we are not interested in duplicating such efforts of other such organizations that might also provide this information. We are also looking to work with other opponents of the US and foreign occupation of Iraq to make this project a success.
For now, we have set up a page at our website: http://www.EndOccIraq.org/IntlSolidarity to track and provide this information. This location of the information could be temporary if in the future we (CEO-I and whoever else decides to join this effort) decide to set up a separate domain for the information.
If you have any links or articles, or comprehensive or partial sources of any of the information I have outlined above, please do contact us at bwitanek@igc.org . If you know of a site that is doing all or part of what we are suggesting, please let us know as well.
In Solidarity, Bob Witanek
