Invite Presentation to Your Community

Hello All!

The Committee to End the Occupation http://EndOccIraq.org  believes that one of the most important tasks before us is to promote educational discussions in the community centers, libraries, Mosques, churches, on campuses, in the high schools, before organizations and at other important venues.  In order to be successful, these events need to be well organized, publicized, promoted and attended by those who believe that education and discussion of the US and foreign invasion, occupation and usurpation of Iraq is critical.  You can sign up to help organize such an event in your community by filling out the information requested on this form:

Description of presentation:

The intent of the slideshow is to provide a narrative of the US occupation, along with a brief introduction of events and issues leading up to the invasion. It is designed for a broad audience as a basis for an intelligent discussion of the issues while challenging the many of the deep misconceptions that persist about Iraq in the US. Among the issues addressed are the effects of the Shock and Awe bombing campaign, the rise of the Shiite majority to challenge the US occupation plans, the role of the Kurdish parties, the control of Iraq's oil by the US, the role of the United Nations and other US allies in the Iraq occupation. A central feature of the program is the large number of slides showing the conduct of US soldiers as an occupation force. The slide show makes a concerted effort to show the ongoing killing of Iraqis by US forces that generally go unreported in the US press.
